A brief 15 minute electricity outage hit El Gouna in the evening of Tuesday at around 8 pm. Some areas were spared such as New Marina and Joubal, but overall, El Gouna fell into quiet darkness. It appears to have been due to power being cut off from National grid.  Electricity was fully restored 15 minutes later for the remainder of the night.

Popular supermarket Bestway have renovated their downtown store. The work began over a week ago and is now complete. The renovations are aimed at improving utilisation of the limited space to better customer experience.  The renovations now completed, will next be executed at the Marina store in January 2021.  Changes include a Charcuterie section, selling meats, freshly painted walls and signage. Black was selected for the walls, but as a trial colour and may yet be changed if it proves unpopular.    Bestway also  upgraded all equipment in the branch which includes display fridges, freezers, price checker, and sales points.  Bestway wishes to assure its customers that it aims to preserve it’s wide variety of stocked goods, however with the improved use of space, allowing better movement inside the store, a small compromise in variety of goods may be necessary.  The pictures below show the new look at Bestway downtown http://www.bestwaysupermarket.com/...

During the closing ceremony, the winning films, that collected the festival’s $224,000 worth prizes, were announced. Information about bringing dogs into Egypt may be hard to find. Gouna News has compiled a few references on the subject into this article.  As a start, Egyptair has a published policy that clarifies much about the subject.  Moreover, dogs or any animal travelling to Egypt need a PCR test done upon arrival. The following has been contributed by Christiana Tagh on her experience bringing in Tara her dog.  ‘ As I got the information from our vet in Egypt that a PCR test is not required we decided to bring our dog from Austria to our home in Egypt.
