Egypt named among best winter sun destinations - Egypt Today

This may encourage tourists to spend Christmas time in the warm atmosphere. Condé Nast Traveler, a travel magazine, published a list of the best destinations where one can enjoy short-haul sunshine at a beach, desert or oasis. The list contains 31 countries from several regions around the world, including the Middle East, Asia and Africa. As for Egypt, one can enjoy the warm atmosphere in Hurghada, Ageeba and all Red Sea resorts, where there are crystal-clear waters, sandy beaches and coral reefs. Aqaba - Hurghada - Sokhna Cruise Line Debuts

Al-Mal newspaper reports that the port of Hurghada received, on Thursday, the first voyage of the shipping line «Aqaba - Hurghada - Sokhna», as confirmed by Brigadier Haitham Mohammed, Director of Hurghada Maritime Port, in a statement to Al-Mal.   He added that the cruise will operate twice a week, whereby the M/V CLIO , constructed in 1998, arrives, flying the flag of "Malta", to the port of Hurghada. The second cruise will be received the following Sunday, coming from Aqaba to Hurghada and then onward to Sokhna. Number of German and English Tourists to be doubled - Egypt Today

Tourists having fun – Hurghada – Egypt Today By:  Egypt Today staff   Sun, Oct. 15, 2017     CAIRO – 15 October 2017: German company FTI will increase its flights to Egypt to amount to 144 instead of 70, according to the Chief Executive Officer of Meeting Point firm, Roula Jouny.  German and English tourism companies declared that the flight bookings to Egypt will double starting November.  The number of flights to Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada and Marsa Alam are witnessing a notable increase; reaching 10 flights, 102 flights and 26 flights per week respectively in the coming season.  The Egyptian stability, on both the political and security levels, led to an increasing flow of tourism from Germany, Switzerland, France, and Austria.  The international travel agency Thomas Cook announced that the number of English tourists booking to visit all cities of Egypt increased; except for Sharm El-Sheikh, due to the ban imposed by the British government after the crash of the Russian

Friday October 20th saw the happy union in marriage of Youssef Ayman Azmi to Sara Tewfik.  The wedding was held at the DuPort Club on the Abu Tig Marina and was attended by friends and family of the couple. Many of the guests having flown in from Holland for the occasion. Young Egyptian Delegate Meets Vladimir Putin - Egypt Today

By: Rehab Ismail Sat, Oct. 21, 2017  - Egypt Today Cairo- 21 October 2017: Russian President Vladimir Putin participated in the closing ceremony of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi on Saturday. He gave a speech to a number of participants representing the delegations attending the festival.  The organizing committee of the World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi, Russia selected Yara el Braidy, member of the Egyptian delegation, who was recommended by the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports to attend a closed meeting with the Russian president, who will meet a selected number of youth and students attending the festival. Cover Photo – Hurghada – Reuters  Thomas Cook promotes Hurghada  By:  Omnia Osama   Wed, Oct. 11, 20 CAIRO - 11 October 2017: Among the hundreds of promotional videos for the most touristic locations all over the world created by the well-known British agency Thomas Cook, Egypt is one of the most promoted countries.   Thomas Cook posted an Oct. 1 video on Facebook promoting tourism in Egypt by featuring the marvelous places it offers to visitors. The video shows Hurghada as an alternative tourist center over Sharm El-Sheikh, as the U.K. has not lifted the direct flight ban to the latter since late 2015.    The video shows the beauty of the Red Sea with its coral reefs and crystal clear water where around 1,200 aquatic species dwell.

Ahmed Abdullah, Governor of the Red Sea governorate, said that Prime Minister Sherif Ismail followed up the taken procedures and exerted efforts to eliminate dengue fever in Qusair City, confirming that the government eradicated 98 % of mosquito swarms causing the fever infection.  In a press conference at the premises of the Egyptian Cabinet, Abdullah pointed out that the number of cases hospitalized in the Red Sea governorate until Sunday have only reached 5 cases.  Earlier last week, the Red Sea governorate set up preventive measures to curb the spread of mosquito-borne dengue virus in cities of Al-Quseir, Safaga and Hurghada.  For further intensified anti-Dengue mosquito measures, the governor of the Red Sea briefed concerned water and sanitation companies on

14th Community Forum El Gouna 2030 Takes Place at TU Berlin

The 14th Community Forum El Gouna 2030 is a part of Technology University of Berlin Campus El Gouna Opening Day 2017 celebrating the 5th anniversary.  The subject  of the forum covered inputs of five years of field research by Freie University Berlin in El Gouna. Prof. Dr. Sahar Sodoudi, Department of Meteorology spoke about 'Adapting Urban Planning to Local Climate Change in El Gouna'. This was followed by 'Environmental Atlas El Gouna – How to Transfor a Sea of Data into a Viable System'  presented by Karim Sameh (B.Sc), Final Year Student of Masters in Urban Development at TUB  Campus El Gouna . Rotarian Georgina Cole then spoke about how five years of 14 community forums had helped Rotary Club of Red Sea - El Gouna with their projects in the field of Energy, Water, and Urban Development. Homeowners Move to Settle their Property Tax

Momentum has been picking up within El Gouna Homeowners community to settle their Property Tax dues with the Egyptian Tax Authority . The subject has laid dormant and unattended for many years, due to many owners being non-Arabic speakers and unaware of recent developments published in the Egyptian press. Also, most homeowners are only part time residents of El Gouna and many rely solely on Orascom Gouna Management for official business and communications and wouldn't know how to deal with the government. This unique situation therefore, is special to El Gouna. However, thanks to the reformed Gouna Owners Club (GOC), a series of email and Facebook communications between members has highlighted the need to take action and settle dues with the Tax Authorities in Hurghada. Sea Cinema Remains Open After Film Festival

El Gouna Residents were pleasantly surprised to notice that the Sea Cinema has remained open after the end of the Gouna Film Festival last month. The Cinema has three theatres screening three different movies every week. Films are screened simultaneously with their worldwide release date. A case in point is the current screening at the Sea Cinema of 'Victoria and Abdul', a recently released film about Queen Victoria and her man servant from India, Abdul.  The film movingly portrays the gap between officialdom and personal relations, between duty and feelings and between East and West. Sea Cinema screening times are : 1pm, 3pm, 6pm, 8pm and 10pm. Ticket prices are : 40 EGP for the 1pm and 3pm showings. 50 EGP for the 6pm, 8pm and 10pm showings.
