REPS confirmed that the tourist was at one of Hughada’s islands and was found there after spending the night.  The tourist was on a cruise trip, and was with other tourists on a speedboat before he went missing. He had been kitesurfing and strayed too far from the boat.  Hassan Al-Tayeb, chairman of the Red Sea’s REPS, confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that the Austrian tourist had gone missing while on a speedboat cruise with a group of tourists in Hurghada and that the boat had returned without him. If you haven’t been downtown in the last two weeks, you will have missed a relatively significant development in downtown’s topography. Where the plaza meets the pedestrian walkzone had always been a little chaotic, with people negotiating the high pavements and dropping into the ‘intersection’ to cross. ‘Tucxis’ would idle, dropping off their passengers, or stalk their next fare. All that is now history, as Gouna’s own ‘spaghetti junction’ has taken shape: A wooden bridge over a lowered road, connecting the south and north sections of downtown. By:  Egypt Today staff Tue, Mar. 20, 2018 CAIRO – 19 March 2018: El-Gouna defeated El-Nasr Mining 2-0 on Monday to reach 60 points and lead the Egyptian League second division group A seven points clear.   El-Minya SC, which is placed second in Group A, also defeated Qenna 1-0 to keep their hopes of winning promotion to the top division.  El-Gouna will host Fayoum FC on Saturday, while El-Minya SC will travel to Aswan to face their local club, Aswan SC.  In Group B, Nogoom El-Mostakbal FC lost two precious points in the promotion race, as their game against Ethad el-Shorta ended with a 2-2 draw and increased the gap with the group leaders, Al-Terasanah to three points.  Both teams will meet each other on April 20 at Al-Terasanah’s stadium.  In Group C, the group leaders, Haras El-Hodoud SC, defeated Kom Hamada 2-0 on Monday and kept the gap with their successors, Kafr El-Sheikh, to eight points.

Egypt Rally was launched in 2010 by Bosla and has since turned into an annual event hosted by El Gouna. Egypt Rally follows the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) guidelines for safety and regulations. El Gouna Rally will witness the participation of the 4x4 Challenge, which was introduced for the first time in Egypt at Sahl Hashish Rally 2017. The rally is supported by the Red Sea governorate, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Environment, and the Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt, according to Rally Egypt’s official Facebook page.

HEPCA (Hurghada Environmental Protection & Conservation Association) ’s mooring team have conducted maintenance operation and renewed the marker buoys for the Dolphins area in Sha'ab El Erg and removed a huge quantity of metal wires which are used illegally by some of the boat captains to moor directly on the coral reefs.  We are calling all the service providers to respect the regulations, and to keep reporting the violations and we will make sure that legal actions are taken against the violators.  Dolphins use areas such as Fanous, Shaab El Erg and Abu Nugar mainly to rest, so activities that disrupt their sleep should be avoided for the well-being of wild animals. This code of conduct aims at mitigating aspects of approaches that negatively affect dolphins communication, behavior and health. Rotary International President 2017-18 Ian Riseley has challenged Rotarians all over the world to plant trees.  Environmental degradation and global climate change are serious threats to everyone, Riseley said. “They are having a disproportionate impact on those who are most vulnerable, those to whom Rotary has the greatest responsibility,” he said.  Trees remove carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from the air, which slows global warming. With 1.2 million Rotarians serving in over 34,000 Clubs worldwide, Rotary Club of Red Sea - El Gouna rose to the challenge.  On Friday 2nd March, 820 trees to the value of 5,000 EGP were planted at The Jungle gardens south of Hurghada.   Interact Club of Red Sea - El Gouna members (aged 12 - 18 years), family and friends also joined in.
