Wednesday, April 12 saw the Cartier Women's Awards (a competition of over 2,000 companies from all over the world) event in Singapore, with El Gouna's own Swiss-German Sara Hannig Nour coming out on top, as the laureate for Middle East and North Africa, for her Sara's Organic Food offshoot  'Sara and Lara's Baskets' project.  The project produces 100% organic produce in a farm north of Cairo, and delivers to subscribers in Cairo.  Sara's Organic Food is also sold at Bestway Supermarkets. Artist Rendition of G Space An important milestone in El Gouna's existence has been reached. As of today, El Gouna has a facility for businesses and entrepreneurs to rent fully functioning workspaces by the month, or the year. The facility, dubbed G Space, had its soft opening April 15th, and is now available to receive prospective clients.  Located on the grounds of what once was The American University in Cairo opposite Technical University of Berlin campus and beside the new Squash Center, G Space offers residents of El Gouna a marvelous opportunity to combine work with El Gouna's superior quality of life G Space is what is also commonly known as co-working space: Sharing a work environment but with independent activity. El Gouna and CIB have launched the first electric bike-sharing system in Africa, and largest in the Middle East. The initial phase comprises of 100 bikes offering a convenient, environmentally conscious means of transportation for residents and visitors. This coincided with the Orascom Development PSA women's World Championship, prominent international and local squash players had the first e-bike ride, signaling the official launch of the project. This bike-sharing system is now set up and operational in El Gouna. The network is comprised of five bike stations: Downtown, Club House, G Space, Marina and Fanadir. Users can pick up a bike at any station and return it to the same station or any another station. Payment is either by credit card at the station or by utilizing the Baddelonline app. This app can be downloaded online for Android smart phones on the PlayStore and on IOS on the Appstore. We all must pay our bills eventually. 😏😒 All homeowners and shop owners receive, once a month, two bills, by email: Service charges which comprises Public Services, Maintenance, Soft Water, Irrigation Water, Security, Street lighting, Pest Control, Associated VAT and depending on the case, Landscaping and Swimming Pool maintenance. Electric charges which includes Electricity consumption, whether home or swimming pool (when shared).  Gouna News sat down with Ashraf Zakhary, Manager Collections at the downtown office in front of BiTec. In summary, we learnt that the office of four employees is in charge of collecting bills from the more than 8,000 homeowners in El Gouna today. During the first week of every month, electronic bills are automatically dispatched by email to all registered homeowners. The bills represent monies due, as of the last day of the previous month, irregardless of activity on the account in the following few days prior to issuance of the invoice. Balanc
