The 14th Community Forum El Gouna 2030 is a part of the program of TUB Campus El Gouna Opening Day 2017. At the same time, the celebration of five years’ journey of the community forum conjugate with the stream. Participants of this Forum will be the diversified stakeholders of the Forum (flyer attached).

Campus El Gouna has been cooperating with the Department of Meteorology of Freie Universität Berlin (FU) for last 5 years in the field of climatology. Every year in September, a group of FU students and researchers came to El Gouna to measure the climatological situation of the town. Due to these experiments, El Gouna always acts as a best breeding and piloting ground. 

The urban climate characteristic largely depends on the solid and void of the urban areas, greeneries, water-bodies, ventilations etc. It has a great interaction with regional climatic representation. Therefore, it is a timely demand to analyze the climatic conditions of El Gouna which interacts with the urban development strategies. It will be addressed more deeply with adaptation and mitigation strategies exploring several challenging issues like urban heat island. So the research results will flourish a discussion platform to evaluate the master plan of ancient sand.

El Gouna is graced with a beautiful location on the Red Sea and founders of the town have thankfully incorporated two marinas into its design and expansion.  Gouna News approached Ms. Marta Prusiz, Administrative Assistant Manager at Orascom Marine Management to learn more and we have compiled the following Frequently Asked Questions that Ms. Prusiz gracefully answered.  What are names of the marinas? Text and photography by Gabriel Mikhail     I n Egypt’s   Eastern Desert, where Gouna is located,   there is a great variety of indigenous trees and  shrubs which have adapted to this region ’s hot and arid conditions.    Desert gardens  have become fashionable in many hot and arid climates around the world. Native plants  use less water  and  insecticides, feed the local wildlife such as birds, are authentic in their setting, show  sensitivity to the environment  and some are used as medicinal plants.    From earliest times the Ancient Egyptians were renowned for their knowledge of medicinal plants. The Papyrus Ebers, an Egyptian medical papyrus of herbal knowledge (c. 1550 B.C.), compiled about  900  remedies, mostly plants, were being used by physicians.
