Terminal 2 opens at Hurghada International Airport

Egypt Today July 30, 2019 1:17 pm       Egypt’s Minister of Aviation Younes al-Masri opened Terminal 2 at Hurghada International Airport of the Red Sea Governorate following the completion of all development and construction works, which included increasing the terminal capacity and efficiency. The terminal contains 11 departure gates connected to the airplanes by direct bridges, nine departure gates connected to the remote airplanes by buses, 72 reservation counters for the registration of departures and receipt of luggage, two counters for large luggage services, 18 counters to document the passports of outgoing passengers and 16 counters to document the passports of incoming passengers. The terminal includes an automatic luggage transfer system with six conveyor belts to carry passengers’ baggage and nine electric conveyor belts to receive incoming passengers’ baggage. New Routes To Hurghada and Marsa Alam On EasyJet

easyJet last week opened reservation for 33 new routes (including service resumptions) for winter 2019/20 season, gradually in effect from 28OCT19. Amendments Draft Law On Granting Foreigners Egyptian Citizenship

The House of Representatives approved a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 89 of 1960 regarding the entry and residence of foreigners in the territories of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and  law 26 of 1975  concerning Egyptian nationality. The draft law is based on the State's policy to create favorable and stable conditions to encourage foreign investment, to support the Egyptian economy. It aims to introduce a new system for the granting of Egyptian citizenship in return for investment, which reflects on the achievement of economic development and preserves the country's capabilities while achieving national security, especially since it is viewed that the condition of residence of foreigner in Egypt for five consecutive years prior to applying for naturalization constitutes an obstacle to obtaining Egyptian nationality. Hurghada tourism officials call for halting wastewater discharge in public parks

Al-Masry Al-Youm July 8, 2019 11:22 am     The officials of the tourism sector in Hurghada called on the officials of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency and the Red Sea Governorate to investigate the irrigation of public parks and trees using wastewater, aiming to eliminate the phenomena. Tourism officials complained that drivers of sewage-cleaning and sludge suction vehicles get rid of wastewater by irrigating public parks. Public gardens and green areas turned into swamps inhabited by insects, rodents and mosquitoes that transmit dangerous diseases to citizens and spread bad odors all day long, they added. Al-Masry Al-Youm monitored the emptying of a sewage cleaning vehicle carrying a load of about 30 tons of untreated sewage in the green area of the Mohammadi Huwaideq Square at the beginning of the tourist walkway of the city and in front of a tourist resort.
