Can a boat stop in El Gouna as a port of call in transit to another destination ? How much would that cost? How does that work ? What permissions are required ?
All boats must check into a Port of Entry to Egypt before coming to Abu Tig Marina. At the present time Abu Tig Marina is not a Port of Entry.
All boats coming to Abu Tig Marina must make a reservation before arriving and contact the Marina Office on VHF 73 before navigating the Marina Entrance Channel.

Largest boat in Gouna in feet?
Abu Tig Marina can accommodate boats up to 60m (around 200ft).

Any other regulations or documents required?
Documents required in Egypt:
Port Clearance from your last Port of Call • Ships Registration Certificate
VHF Radio License • Insurance Certificate
Crew List • Ship’s stamps are always good to have but not essential

To complete checkin, the following is also required:
1. Port Clearance from the Port of Entry
2. Fees must be paid for Customs Clearance
The Port Clearance must be gained from the chosen Port of Entry to Egypt. The customs Clearance can then be completed in one of two ways:
A) At the Port of Entry, at the same time as the Port Clearance (it may take a few days to process the documentation), No further formalities are required for the duration of the permit issued.
B) When the Port Clearance is issued from the Port of Entry, a sailing permit to another Customs Port can be requested allowing the boat to travel to a different Marina and complete Customs Clearance at the relevant Customs Port. In this case the Customs Clearance must be completed through a Shipping Agent.
