Rotary Club President Changeover

The Rotary Club of Red Sea - El Gouna, held their handover ceremony on Tuesday 19th July to mark the start of the new Rotary Year.

Club President 2015-16 Sherif Abdel Aziz welcomed new President 2016-17 Dr Rafeek Ramzy who spoke about the plans for the year ahead for the Red Sea Club.

A video was produced to review the projects organised in 2015-16, and also to highlight one of the new year activities which includes celebrating the centennial of The Rotary Foundation (TRF). The video is viewable in the video section of Gouna News. 

 TRF is responsible for organizing all the district and global grants for Rotary projects, and to celebrate their 100th anniversary they are asking all Rotary Clubs around the world to use the following hashtag on social media to highlight all the work and activities achieved:  #100ActsofGood

El Gouna is graced with a beautiful location on the Red Sea and founders of the town have thankfully incorporated two marinas into its design and expansion.  Gouna News approached Ms. Marta Prusiz, Administrative Assistant Manager at Orascom Marine Management to learn more and we have compiled the following Frequently Asked Questions that Ms. Prusiz gracefully answered.  What are names of the marinas? Native plants  use less water  and  insecticides, feed the local wildlife such as birds, are authentic in their setting, show  sensitivity to the environment  and some are used as medicinal plants.    From earliest times the Ancient Egyptians were renowned for their knowledge of medicinal plants. The Papyrus Ebers, an Egyptian medical papyrus of herbal knowledge (c. 1550 B.C.), compiled about  900  remedies, mostly plants, were being used by physicians.
