La Cantina Restaurant Downtown Reopens

Located by the Gouna School and the Bus Station in the downtown, Sabah has reopened her restaurant, named La Cantina, after a summer hiatus. 

The cuisine at La Cantina combines elements of different culinary traditions. The menu is prepared using healthy ingredients combining flavours from the Mediterranean and Oriental culinary cultures.

La Cantina brings different recipes in the name of exchanging culinary heritage together with a healthier lifestyle.

Native plants  use less water  and  insecticides, feed the local wildlife such as birds, are authentic in their setting, show  sensitivity to the environment  and some are used as medicinal plants.    From earliest times the Ancient Egyptians were renowned for their knowledge of medicinal plants. The Papyrus Ebers, an Egyptian medical papyrus of herbal knowledge (c. 1550 B.C.), compiled about  900  remedies, mostly plants, were being used by physicians.
