For restaurants cafes and bars, a 50% capacity is implemented and closing time will be  at 12 am , delivery and takeout services can operate afterwards. For indoor outlets, all customers have to wear masks unless they are seated at their table. Staff members will be required to wear masks at all times, sanitizers will be available to customers and all outlets will be following the Ministry of health and Ministry of Tourism regulations. Works are nearly finished on the downtown road which runs past the GoBus Station, Abu Amer Fruit and Vegetables, Caleo Restaurant, Post Office, Crystal Bikes, etc.. Pedestrian pavements have been laid down, with sectioned off parking areas, giving the road a neater look.

The new supermarket will be Gourmet's flagship store in Egypt spanning over 1,000 sqm. The standalone store is expected to launch early 2021 and will be home to all Gourmet’s signature products to serve the growing community of El Gouna.   Gourmet Egypt has been delivering to El Gouna and Hurghada twice a week, and given the growing volume, the company decided to have an anchor store, which would serve as a hub for the area. Gourmet Egypt has contracted Jos De Vries an international design firm to design its largest flagship store yet and will be located between TUB and Tawila.   We look forward to this new exciting partnership and join us in welcoming Gourmet to our community.

Dear Valued Homeowners and Residents, Kindly be informed that there will be works of installing interlock tiles at the road that leads to the Swiss restaurant in El Kafr area, Monday July 6 th , 2020 starting from  12:00PM  and will continue for 6 consecutive days. Accordingly, there will be a road closure taking place within this period. Alternatively, El Kafr area can be accessed through the tunnel beneath the downtown bridge. (Please check the map below). Retail outlets will be open  until 9:00 pm  except for supermarkets, grocery stores & pharmacies which can operate for 24 hrs. El Gouna Mosque and Church will be open for daily prayers but not for Friday prayers and Sunday Mass.  Public Transportation will stop  at 12 am . Notary office in El Gouna will begin operating as of  Sunday the 28 th  from 10 am until 2 pm . Lost in time Since I was a kid I have loved history. When visiting historical sites, I imagined how it must have been in the old days, the fact that I stood where knights, soldiers, even kings once lived fascinated me. I wondered how day to day life was for the ordinary folk; the ones that didn't make the history books by name. So imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon an ancient site right here in El Gouna! The Fortress of Abu Sha'ar.  Once one of the three most important coastal ports of the Red Sea, along Qusier (Myos Hermos) and Berenike. The Abu Sha'ar Fort was erected in the late Roman era, possibly rebuilt, around 309-311 AD and initially used for military purposes to monitor the trade routes through the surrounding desert and coastal movements, but had possibly also an economic purpose. The Gouna Owners Club (GOC) charitable initiative reported last week has just been successfully concluded following a few weeks of hard work by the GOC volunteer workgroup.  The final amount of donations collected and distributed directly to local workers in El Gouna was  164,500 EGP . A total of 350 workers were targeted, all on an average daily pay of 100 EGP or less, as follow; Irtikaa workers comprised of street sweepers, lagoon beach cleaners, garbage collectors, etc.. total of  170 , each received 500 EGP Un-uniformed security guards "Ghafeers"  90  in total, each received 500 EGP Pesticide workers carrying out insect sprays and other related duties by the Pesticide Service Companies, total of  40 , each received 350 EGP. Various workers with some disabilities or special needs in various groups including gardening, warehouse personnel, etc.. total  30 , each paid 350 EGP. The Gouna Owners Club (GOC) have launched an initiative to help some of the most needy in the El Gouna community at this difficult time. A workgroup was set up about 2 weeks ago to identify the most vulnerable groups in the community. A fund of over 150,000 EGP having been donated so far by GOC members.  A disadvantaged group of around 250 workers was identified, including street sweepers, beach cleaners, garbage collectors, ununiformed guards (Ghafeers), etc.. most of them are on an average daily pay of around 100 EGP.  The GOC workgroup of owners are directly involved in the distribution of the donated fund, against prepared lists to ensure all donations will reach those targeted. Souka Dubieland is El Gouna’s dog park and canine hotel, stretched out on a wide surface, submerged in beautiful  greenery on the El Gouna industrial road, just 20m off the West Golf roundabout.  Dubieland is also a shelter to many abandoned dogs, Baladi, Saluki and others. It operates every day from 10am to 5pm. After Ramadan, from 9am to 6pm.  In  summer months, playgrounds can be used in the evening hours.
