Gezira Sporting Club Wins 8th Annual Tennis Tournament

In a departure from trend, Gezira Sporting Club (GSC) from Cairo, won the 8th Annual Tennis Doubles Tournament. This tournament is held every year at the Gouna Tennis Club on Mohamed Kamel Street  

Previously El Gouna had come out victorious in 6 of their 7 meets.

The annual tournament pits El Gouna tennis players against GSC tennis players. The spirit of the tournament is friendly matches over three days, with finals on the fourth day.  

The final tally showed Gezira winning 38 matches versus 28 matches won by El Gouna  

Cups and Prizes sponsored by many benefactors (see below), are then distributed to winners, organizers and ball boys and girls from El Gouna International School, in a ceremony on the courts  

In the evening a farewell dinner was held at Smokery Restaurant in the new Marina 

Congratulations to Gezira Sporting Club for their deserved win, and everyone is looking forward to next year when there will be another repeat of this lovely event

Native plants  use less water  and  insecticides, feed the local wildlife such as birds, are authentic in their setting, show  sensitivity to the environment  and some are used as medicinal plants.    From earliest times the Ancient Egyptians were renowned for their knowledge of medicinal plants.
