Rotary Bird Spotting Day

REDSHANK

Rotary Club of Red Sea - El Gouna held their first bird spotting day at El Gouna Park on 2nd February 2020  as part of a new Environmental Project to raise awareness for the natural world and wonderful wild bird population at the park.

Bird ID cards are being produced by Rotary in English and Arabic to help identify the different species. These will be updated as different species are recorded, especially with the spring visitors already making an appearance. The cards can be shared digitally and the file will be available at Alam Writing Materials shop in Abu Tig Marina if anyone wishes to order and purchase a printed copy.

Tips for a successful bird spotting day are to keep as quiet as possible with no sudden movements, wear natural coloured clothing, and don't forget a sun hat and plenty of water.

A Facebook group has been set up to share photos and news of the
visiting wild birds at El Gouna Park:

And please remember, if you enjoy a picnic at the park, please dispose of all your rubbish in the bins as this can be harmful to the wild life if left on the ground and gets blown into the ponds.

Happy bird spotting.
