Gouna Owners Club Meet with El Gouna Incoming GM

Meeting with El Gouna’s new General Manager, Raouf Tawfik


On 15 May 2019, members of Gouna Owners Club Committee held a preliminary meeting with the new General Manager of El Gouna, Eng RaoufTawfik, who took up his post at the beginning of April 2019.  This first meeting provided an opportunity for the Committee to share with him some of the issues that are currently concerning their members.  These included:

• Customer Services – response and communication
• Maintenance and Extra Works Departments – quotations and pricing
• Diminishing Privileges of Owners Cards - Lack of free usable beaches for owners
• Swimwear rules for communal pools
• Erosion of lagoon beaches
• Lack of advance notice of annual increases in Service Charges
• Sales Transfer Fees
• Land and Property Registration
• Wild dogs
• Plans for roads and car parks in El Gouna

The Committee are appreciative of the time given by the new General Manager and very much look forward to continuing the good relations already established with Orascom management in the interests of maintaining the very special nature of our home town.

Native plants  use less water  and  insecticides, feed the local wildlife such as birds, are authentic in their setting, show  sensitivity to the environment  and some are used as medicinal plants.    From earliest times the Ancient Egyptians were renowned for their knowledge of medicinal plants. The Papyrus Ebers, an Egyptian medical papyrus of herbal knowledge (c. 1550 B.C.), compiled about  900  remedies, mostly plants, were being used by physicians.
