Fire Destroys Red Sea Zone Kite Center

It happened in the night, a large fire, helped by the winds, swept through the mostly wooden structures of the Red Sea Zone Kite Center and Watersports Academy on the night of September 1st, burning everything to the ground.

Thankfully no one was hurt.

It only took 15 minutes for a labor of love to disappear in ashes. The Polish owned and run Center had helped so many watersport lovers indulge in their hobby over the 13 years of its existence.

GounaNews republishes below Red Sea Zone’s announcement and appeal as displayed on their Facebook Page.

We look forward to all of us contributing to restore the Red Sea Zone to its glory. Success is a foregone conclusion when all of El Gouna joins hands to help.

Dear friends of RedSeaZone!
We have received a lot of support from you today - we know that you are with us and that we can always, in any situation count on you - today we really needed it! You probably don’t realize but you spread this amazing energy all over El Gouna. You gave us today a lot of strength and wings. We have some great news for you! We already have the equipment, and we have organized everything, so that tomorrow we can continue teaching on our spot!
If you want to support us financially, we would like to encourage you to visit us in El Gouna and purchase courses and services in our temporary and future spot - for each course, rental or rescue pack we will issue a voucher without a due date, which you will be able to use whenever you decide to pop up for a visit!
Come to see us, train new tricks, tip our staff and spread the news that we are alive and still working hard - in this way you give us energy and top up our accounts ðŸ˜‰ We have decided not to make any official fundraising - we are alive and all good - we just need to mobilize ourselves to rebuild the spot, and thanks to you we are stronger than ever!
Finally, we would like to thank Blanka Marta Lipinska for her unconditional support. Blanka who is a member of our RedSeaZone family and frequent guest in our station, without any doubts or questions Blanka organized some fundraising action - which we officially confirm isn’t „fake”, but an act of the sincere desire to help!
