In light of our preparation for ElGouna Film Festival along side with the government security requirements, kindly be informed that during the below mentioned dates, entry and exit permissions (including furniture) will not be granted for the areas north of Downtown. 


Please note that these areas include:

  • New Marina
  • Abutig Marina
  • South Marina
  • Old Nubia
  • New Nubia 
  • Upper Nubia 
  • Fanadir
  • Joubal/Joubal Lagoon
  • Italian Compound.
  • Rihanna

 We would like to thank you for your support and understanding. Looking forward to a very successful festival in beautiful El Gouna.

Native plants  use less water  and  insecticides, feed the local wildlife such as birds, are authentic in their setting, show  sensitivity to the environment  and some are used as medicinal plants.    From earliest times the Ancient Egyptians were renowned for their knowledge of medicinal plants. The Papyrus Ebers, an Egyptian medical papyrus of herbal knowledge (c. 1550 B.C.), compiled about  900  remedies, mostly plants, were being used by physicians.
