Hurghada Beach – Reuters By:  MENA   Tue, Jul. 24, 2018 CAIRO - 24 July 2018: The Environment Ministry spearheaded a campaign to clean Magawish Island in the Red Sea, within the framework of efforts aimed at preserving biodiversity and nature protectorates.   The campaign is launched in coordination with Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association (HEPCA). Nearly 120 persons will participate in it.   In statements on Tuesday, Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad said Magawish Island is one of Egypt's marine protectorates. In the coming days, cliff-nesting seabirds, especially gulls, will lay their eggs on the island, she noted. The gulls lay two or three speckled eggs in nests composed of vegetation.   The campaign is part of Egypt's initiative "Red Sea Islands free from plastic", she said.
