Rotary District Conference Concludes in Hurghada
ROTARY DISTRICT 2451 CONFERENCE 2017
Members of Rotary Club of Red Sea - El Gouna attended their first District Conference held 11th - 14th May 2017 at the Steigenberger Al Dau Hotel in Hurghada. The theme of the conference was the Empowerment of Women.
Over 1,000 Rotarians from 93 Rotary Clubs in District 2451 Egypt joined together for social networking and fellowship. There was a full daytime program of VIP guest speakers which included Rotary International President Representative Nick Phillips, Writer and Contemporary Thinker Fatima Naout, Egyptologist Dr Wassim El Sisy, Film Director Inas El Deghedy, President National Council for Women Dr Maya Morsy, and Member of Egyptian Parliament Dr Marianne A. Azer.
Elegant gala dinners were held in the evenings and included wonderful entertainment from top artists like John Francois Mikhail. A separate Spouse and Fellowship program of events was arranged with the theme: Women - Power for Purpose.
Red Sea Governor Major General Ahmed Abdullah was invited to speak at the opening dinner. He proudly spoke of the activities of Rotary Club of Red Sea - El Gouna members during their three medical convoys for the Bedouin communities of the Eastern Desert. Club members also arranged a handcrafts exhibition highlighting the talent from the Red Sea.
