Supplies Needed for Ras Gharib

The weekly Rotary Club of Red Sea - El Gouna meeting Tuesday  night was held at the Culture Center Red Sea which is next to the Deutsche Schule Hurghada.

The cosy atmosphere was the perfect place to summarise and assess all the hard work of the past few days organising the first convoy supplying aid to those in need in Ras Ghareb after the devastating flooding.

The most urgent need is now for medical supplies. Here is the post shared last night by Club Founder Dina Nashed:

For anyone who would like to support our sisters and brothers at Ras Ghareb, RC Red Sea-El Gouna ( as part of our preparations for our Medical Aid Convoy), was updated by Ras Ghareb Hospital Manager with the urgent need for the following Medicine:

Cidophage SR 1000
Insulin Mixtard 30/70
Cefobid 1000gm 
Concor 5&10 Tablets
Plavex Tablets
Norvast 5&10
Capoten 25
Insulin Lantos

Native plants  use less water  and  insecticides, feed the local wildlife such as birds, are authentic in their setting, show  sensitivity to the environment  and some are used as medicinal plants.    From earliest times the Ancient Egyptians were renowned for their knowledge of medicinal plants. The Papyrus Ebers, an Egyptian medical papyrus of herbal knowledge (c. 1550 B.C.), compiled about  900  remedies, mostly plants, were being used by physicians.
