Gouna has a new Bookstore

A new bookstore has opened in the New Marina Diwan was the first Barnes & Noble style bookstore to open its doors in Egypt, if not the Middle East.  It's aspiration being to bring together Western and Eastern cultures and aesthetics, and spread Arab culture, via their Boutique style Bookstore (also selling music and DVDs) The Diwan chain expanded rapidly and inspired the opening of numerous other bookstores. Diwan provides both an online search engine on its website, and helpful computer catalogs within the store, which allows for some interesting research to be done. The large and up-to-date selection of English-language titles, as well as its comprehensive, English-language website, makes Diwan a popular bookstore among expats, visitors, and English-speaking customers in general. Rotary Club Participates in Earth Week

The Rotary Club of Red Sea - El Gouna joined in the Earth Week celebrations commencing Friday 15th April 2016 by attending the opening event at Technology University of Berlin, Campus El Gouna. TUB Lecturer Christoph Banhardt welcomed everyone with a presentation about  Green Earth and Healthy Planet giving valuable advice on how to reduce carbon emissions.  This was followed by Biologist Islam El Sadek's interesting presentation about the Red Sea National Parks which cover an area of 48,000 sq. km. There are four types of protected areas in Egypt: coastal, wetlands, desert, and geological which are located in the Northern Red Sea, Wade El Gemal Hamata, and Elba. The Red Sea Rangers goal is to protect these areas for future generations, raise environmental awareness, and promote ecotourism. Industrial Gate Back in Operation

Kindly be informed that the industrial gate (which is behind the winery) will be back in operation as  EXIT ONLY  for passenger vehicles, starting today  the 6th of April 2016 . Swiss Deli opens in New Marina

A Swiss Deli has just opened in the New Marina. Malu's Deli is located between the two New Marina Piazzas. Marlis, whom Gounies already know as the owner of the successful Garage restaurant, is the owner of this new Swiss German style, healthy eatery. Specializing in homemade foods such as homemade fresh Swiss bread baked every morning on the premises. You will also find homemade jam, pastries, salted caramel, imported Swiss beef and Swiss cheese. Malu's Deli offers takeaway and two seating areas. One in the sunshine (with umbrellas) and one at the back in the shade. Delivery is not available at the moment. Marlis and her assistant Joel would be pleased to welcome you everyday from 10:30am to 6pm.
